Richard Knoll
Richard Knoll, CFA, PE is a Director with more than 22 years of experience performing valuations and corporate advisory work for corporations across an array of industries. With a diverse background in manufacturing and petroleum refining, Mr. Knoll specializes in the valuation of intangible assets, operating entities, and proprietary technologies in the fields of petroleum refining, chemical processing, food processing, pharmaceuticals, thermal sciences and related fields. Mr. Knoll has valued a variety of entities for purposes ranging from banking and finance, construction, merger and acquisition, economic losses, marital dissolution, litigation support and financing.
Mr. Knoll’s experience includes the valuation of product inventory/leasing agreements and their tax effects, the liquidation of refining equipment and operating units and the completion of economic planning studies for the scheduling of product inventories and processing schedules. Studies have included detailed manufacturing modeling, utilizing time-series analysis and statistical forecasting.
Prior to founding a financial services consultancy that combined with Trellus’ predecessor firm in 2016, Mr. Knoll was the Chief Financial Officer of a middle-market manufacturing company in Chicago. Mr. Knoll has also held the positions of Chief Financial Officer of a venture-backed technology company, as well as a Managing Principal of Dallas-based Business Valuation Services. Mr. Knoll holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a licensed Professional Engineer.
